a) Professor Parker Wilson potrayed by Richard Gere
b) Cate Wilson portrayed by Joan Allen
c) Jasjeet played by Erick Avari
d) Hachicko portrayed by the Akita dog
e) Andy Wilson played by Sarah Roemer

2. What is the story about?

The main character, Hachiko is an Akita dog that comes from a temple in Japan. On the way travelled to the United States, his cage dropped accidentally at a train station in America and it ran out from it. Then, it met a person who play a very important rule in its life that is a college professor Parker Wilson. Parker is instantly captivated by the dog. When the station controller, Carl refused to keep the dog and said he might send it to a dog shelter, Parker decided to take the puppy home overnight. However, his wife, Cate is insistent about not keeping it. Although Parker expects that someone will have contacted the train station, no one has. When he has to go to work with the puppy, his Japanese colleague, Ken translate the symbol on the pup’s collar as ‘Hachi’ which signifies good fortune which later become the name of the dog. Cate changes her mind to adopt Hachi after seeing how close her husband has come to Hachi when Parker teaches Hachi to catch a ball by showing the ways.

After a few years, Hachi and Parker are close as ever but Hachi still refuses to do normal dog-like things like chase and retrieve a ball. Moreover, Hachi develops a special habit that is follows Parker to train station when he goes to work. It leaves after Parker’s safe departure but come back in the afternoon waiting patiently for him when he come off duty and walk with him home again. This happens every day until one day Hachi barks and refuses to go with him when Parker attempt to leave. Eventually, Parker leaves without it. Out of the blue, Hachi picks up a ball, chases Parker and willing to play fetch ball with him. Worried that he will be late for the college, Professor Parker leaves on the train despite Hachi barking at him. At work that day Parker, still holding Hachi's ball, is teaching his music class when he suddenly suffers a fatal heart attack and dies.

At the train station, Hachi waits patiently at the train station as usual, but there is no sign of Parker this time. It is waiting in the snow for a few hour until Parker’s son-in law, Michael comes to collect it. After that, Cate sells the house and Hachi is sent to live with her daughter, Andy her family. However, it escapes for her house and manages to find its way back the train station to wait for its master at its usual spot. Although Andy takes it home soon, she decided to let Hachi out the next day to return to the train station. For the next nine years, Hachi waits for his owner. His loyalty is even profiled in the local newspaper. One day, Hachi returns to the same spot in front of the railway station where he had waited faithfully every day for nine years. He lies down in the snow and falls asleep for the last time while dreaming about the joyful days spent with Parker.

3. What group of people would like to watch this film?

We think that this movie would be liked by people of all ages because it is a movie filled with plenty of moral values and shows a great bond between 2 living beings.Nextly, the characteristics shown by the Hatchiko shows great determination, loyalty and faithfulness. This excellent moral values could be learnt from the movie and could be instilled in daily life.

After Movie

1. Do you like this movie? Why or why not?

We loved this movie because this was based on a true story .It was very emotional and put me right over the edge as far as crying which shows how touching the movie is.Hachiko is also very loyal and faithful and shows great determination. Hachiko awaits his master return at the train station everyday even though his master has already passed on. Hachiko continued to wait his master for 10 years at the same spot at the train station dreaming that his beloved would return to him again.

2. What rating would you give for this movie?

We give the movie Hachiko 4 out of 5 stars. We think that Hachiko: A Dog’s Story was a great film on the whole. If you are feel like having a nice, cathartic cry, then this is definitely something you should watch.

3. What spoiler would ruin this movie if you told your readers about it?

There are 2 spoliers that would ruin the movie. The pivotal spoiler for me would be, the demise of Parker while conducting a lesson. It’s right after he discovered Hachi willingly offered to play ball with him. The second spoiler would be, the scenes featuring Hachi when he awaits his master at the train station without knowing the truth that it will never see its master ever again.

4. All movies teach a lesson (theme or moral). What did you learn from this movie?

Loyalty is a feeling of great attachment or gratitude towards another person. Hachiko is waiting at the same spot and same time every day for about nine years for someone it love, Parker. Although he never appeared after his demise, Hachi still remembers him and even dreams about the days spent with Parker at the last moment of its life. The pivotal lesson learnt from the movie is the the love shared between 2 different living beings and how it created an amazing bond. For example, Hachiko’s great loyalty and faithfulness could be seen because of his great determination to wait for Parker due to the reason Parker took Hatchiko into his family and accepted it as a member of his family and treated with great care and love.

5. What title would you give for your review?

An amazing bond between a master and his pet

After movie

1. Do you like this movie? Why or why not?

Yes, we liked this movie very much. This is because we think this movie is very educational and inspirational for all the viewers. The movie storyline had successfully expressed the moral values in the movie. This story had teached us the philosophy of life. Like the quote “Hakuna Matata”, it means no worries, it tells us to leave our past away instead of living in it. When the monkey, Rafiki
told Simba that the past can hurt, but he can choose either run from it or learn from it.

2. What rating would you give for this movie?

We would rank this 4 of out 5.

3. What spoilers would ruin this movie if you told your readers about it?

The spoilers would ruin this movie if I told my readers about it is the part when Simba’s father, Mufasa passed away in the beginning of the story in order to save his son, which is a very shocking part of the movie and leads to the plot twist.

4. All movies teach a lesson (theme or moral). What did you learn from this movie?

‘The lion king’ teaches us the lesson about life. How should we face our lives positively and responsibly? We shouldn’t run away from the problems we’re having, we should face them instead. And another lesson is our parents dear us most, they would sacrify themselves for us and always forgive the mistakes we make. We shouldn’t disappoint them like Simba did, which he ran away from his homeland.

5. What title would you give for your review?

The war of power of lion in Pride land.
